Roman and Williams list their NYC Pad

This amazing one bedroom pad of design due Roman and Williams behind the Ace Hotel, 211 Elizabeth Street and Gwyneth Paltrow's NYC apartment have listed their own 4th Street apartment for $3,500,000.

I love it.

And nothing has changed about it since they decorated it in 2000.  12 years ago!!  It could have been done yesterday.

headboard

I LOVE this head board of designer Amber Lewis!!
(Do you think she is on her computer correcting my grammar?)

I have posted photos of her house before but this headboard!  It is probably just a throw that she put on top of her headboard.  I can do that!  I just need to find a throw this amazing!

the interiorist

Love this site from fellow Torontian, Jenn Hannotte!  Not only does she blog about her amazing remodel of her home on The Interiorist, she also has her own design firm called Russett and Empire Interiors.

I love her style and though I am in desperate need of a make over in my house, and Jenn's prices are VERY reasonable, it isn't going to happen now.  But when it does, I think I am giving Jenn a call.  That living room is exactly how I would like mine to look.  Just need to start by getting rid of that IKEA pull out couch in our living room that was supposed to go in the basement but didn't fit.
Perhaps I should follow Jenn's lead and start listing my stuff on Craigslist.  But really, how much would a ten year old pull out from IKEA make me?

Thanks to Apartment Therapy for pointing me to Jenn's site after she won the International Contest for Small Cool Kitchens 2011!

square tapers

LOVE these square taper candles from Blueprint in Dallas that I spotted over at My Notting Hill.

Blueprint is a store owned by 5 women that is set in a house from the 1920's.  Everything in the home/store is for sale.  Wish they were an online shop too though so I could buy those candles!

Here are a few more shots of the store and click here to see a video about the story of the shop.

undecorate

This is one of the photos from fellow Canadian DwellStudio Founder & Creative Director, Christiane Lemieux's book Undecorate.  There is absolutely nothing about this photo that I could change.  That chair is amazing for reading.  The colours...I love the tan and pale blue and the light wood, not to mention the black marble on the fireplace and that coffee table, but seriously, is that white vase from Dwell?  It kind of makes the room, or at least the photo, or maybe it is the only thing that should go?  I can't decide.  No, it should stay.  It was probably on the side table before but was switched with the books and alligator (or is that a croc?) for the shoot.  Too much white in the screen.
My living room is the same blue but my furniture is white (doesn't matter how much bleach you use, doesn't work with kids) and the rug is dark blue.  I love the dark blue but it isn't great with 2 shedding cats and a dog.
For some reason, this room works for me.  Or it will when there are no more markers, cat hair or dog hair.
But could I just pretend that all that is the essence of UN-decorate!?!!  Yeah, I know....probably not.

thanks table tonic

ivy & piper june july issue is out!!

Though not named in the NY Times article about shelter magazines that has been making the rounds, Ivy and Piper is still a contender.  With their fifth issue, they have once again given us lots of beautiful photos and many interesting interviews with designers and bloggers.
