NN- DOOCE

Blogging since 2001, Heather Armstrong, aka Dooce, now has millions of readers.  As the most famous 'mommy' blogger, Heather posts humorously about her battles with postpartum depression, pregnancy, parenthood and growing up in the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints.  Great posts and great photos are the mainstay of this blog.  It if you really like it, check out her books, "Things I Learned About My Dad: In Therapy" and "It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita".  And keep your eye out for her influence on HGTV.  In late 2009, Heather and the network created a partnership where she will work to create innovative on-line and on-air convergence programming for the network.

NN - FUNNY OR DIE aka BIEBER OR DIE

Funny or Die was founded in February 2008 by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy's production company, Gary Sanchez Productions.  Michael Kvamme, an aspiring young comedian, came up with the concept of this site where readers can post their own videos, famous people like Judd Apatow and Will Ferrell himself can post videos and the readers all vote as to whether the video is funny or not.

Recently, Justin Beiber has taken over the site and funnyordie.com can also be accessed through bieberordie.com.  Check out today's featured Beibs!

NN - ZIMBIO

A 'social networking' site disguised as a gossip site.  Worth the gossip posts and photos but also worth looking into the social networking side and the RSS feeds.  This site promotes bloggers and offers photo sharing to name a few features.  Is this site offering too much?  According to the 2009 WMAs it isn't.  It was the big winner!

So much good stuff on this site.  Mother of 5 kids, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 4 horses, a pet duck, and a parrot named Trouble.

NN - OCHRE

The online destination of a beautiful design company whose flagship store is based out of London with an additional store in NYC.  The calming beauty of the furniture is also seen in the site design and is a great place to visit for a breath of fresh air.

NN - KABOOSE

An excellent parent resource.  For kids, there are educational links, fun game links, a kids webpage builder, and movie reviews.  For the parents, there is a never ending amount of information from parenting and health info, to recipe, craft and holiday ideas, to a community section with message boards, blogs and photo storage and display.  Plus the games section!

NN - THE SELBY

It may sound like a hotel but it is a great website of cool photos taken by Todd Selby.  As a portrait, interiors, and fashion photographer and illustrator, Selby started his site in June of 2008 as a place where he could post photos he had taken of his friends in their home.  It is now a bit of a cult phenomenon.   You are nobody unless you are on The Selby.

Keep your eyes open for his book, The Selby is In Your Place, being released in May 2010.

NN - MODE FEBER

A Stockholm based lookbook site.  It consists of 4 blogs, each with its own host and address: Caroline's Mode, Fashion Girl, Mode Man and Stockholm Steet Style.  If you like mixing pieces from H&M and Zara with Chanel and Givenchy, then you will love this site.

NN - DESIGN SPONGE

An extensive interior design site full of great pictures, product links, DIY videos, guest bloggers and other terrific features.  Other features include mini trends, before and after photos, recipes, and an informative feature called Biz Ladies, a great source for working woman.  This is an interior design blog not to be missed with archives going back to 2004.

NN - PASTAR

It's time for a trip to Korea!  Or at least a trip to this site to check out the outfits and look at the clothes that Target needs to start bringing into the US!

NN - WWD

The online site of the fashion industry trade journal, aka 'the bible of fashion'.  An excellent site for all things fashion from designers, fashion shows and their clothes, to celebrities and their fashion, to the business of the industry and more.  Excellent photos and all around source for everything fashion.

NN - SHOPBOP

An excellent fashion shopping site with great features.  For those worried about breaking the bank and just looking for an online window shopping experience, Shopbop has loads of trends and how to wear them, searches for outfits and clothing by style, and a multitude of lookbooks just to name a few of the great features.  With simple navigation and free shippping anywhere when you spend more than $100, this site is a must see.

NN - SHOOT FACTORY

A film location agency catalog of beautiful houses in London and around the world.  Full of tons of photos of amazing private homes.

NN - JUST JARED

A great site for a multitude of celebrity photos and news.  Simple navigation and an off shoot site for the younger crowd.

NN - REMODELISTA

'A sourcebook for the considered home', this website was relaunched this September by 4 friends, Julie Carlson, Janet Hall, Sarah Lonsdale, and Francesca Connelly.  They realized after remodeling many homes between them that there was no one place to make the process simpler.  Features include the Get Inspired section which consists of 10 Easy Pieces, Steal This Look, Architect Visits and House Calls, Palette and Paints, and Remodelista Daily.  There is also a Browse Rooms section as well as Shop Categories and Find Resources for Architecture, Interior, Remodeling, and Slow Design.  As this site is a relaunch, it is full of great information but as time goes on, hopefully even more.

NN - POPSUGAR

User friendly site with the latest safe for work (sfw) celebrity stories and photos.  Great look and site that is part of an ever expanding network.

NN - CURBED

If you love New York (or LA or San Fran), its real estate, shopping and food, you will LOVE this site.  


CURBED.com is the flagship site of the CURBED Network, a collection of real estate blogs for New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.  There is also a sub-collection of restaurant blogs (EATER.com) and fashion blogs (RACKED.com) for each city.  


A great place to go if you live, want to live, wished you lived, or just wanted to day dream about living, eating and shopping in these great cities, or are just heading for a visit.  And for the summer, they have the BEACH for those Hampton get aways.

A UK based gossip and entertainment site with all the latest gossip State side and from across the pond.  With a bubblegum look and simple categories such as In the Spotlight, Latest News, and Style Galleries, this site is a definite site for some daily lunchtime entertainment.
